By accessing or using FrontWars, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use FrontWars.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legal agreement between you and VexxusArts Ltd ("we," "us," "our") governing your use of FrontWars, including the website, game, and all related services.

By creating an account, accessing, or playing FrontWars, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

2. Service Description

FrontWars is an online multiplayer strategy game currently in ALPHA development stage. The game allows players to compete for territorial control through strategic gameplay, alliances, and warfare.

As an ALPHA release:

  • Features and gameplay mechanics may change without notice
  • Technical issues and bugs may occur
  • Game balance is subject to ongoing adjustments
  • Services may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance

3. Account Requirements

3.1 Account Creation

To access certain FrontWars features, you may need to create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information
  • Maintain and update your account information
  • Keep your password secure and confidential
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized account access
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

3.2 Account Restrictions

  • You must be at least 13 years old to create an account
  • One account per person unless otherwise authorized
  • You may not transfer or sell your account
  • Creating multiple accounts to evade bans or restrictions is prohibited

4. User Conduct

When playing FrontWars, you agree to follow these conduct guidelines:

4.1 Prohibited Behavior

You must not:

  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other players
  • Use offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate language
  • Cheat, exploit bugs, or use unauthorized third-party software
  • Attempt to hack, disrupt, or damage FrontWars services
  • Impersonate other players, moderators, or staff
  • Engage in real-money trading of virtual items
  • Share or distribute inappropriate content
  • Advertise or promote external services without permission
  • Manipulate game mechanics to gain unfair advantages

4.2 Fair Play

FrontWars is a competitive strategy game. While betrayal and deception are valid in-game strategies:

  • These tactics must remain within game mechanics
  • Harassment outside of gameplay is prohibited
  • Collusion to manipulate leaderboards may result in penalties
  • Bot accounts and automated gameplay are not allowed

5. Intellectual Property

5.1 Ownership

FrontWars contains proprietary content owned by VexxusArts Ltd and open-source components under various licenses:

  • Game code: Combined MIT and GPL-3.0 license
  • Game assets: Various licenses including 3AM Experiences LLC
  • Trademarks and branding: VexxusArts Ltd
  • User-generated content: Licensed to us for game operation

5.2 Open Source

FrontWars is based on the OpenFrontIO project. Where conflicts arise between proprietary and open-source licenses, the applicable open-source license prevails.

6. Virtual Items and Currency

6.1 Virtual Goods

FrontWars may include virtual items, currencies, or other digital goods that can be obtained through:

  • Gameplay and achievements
  • In-game purchases (if applicable)
  • Promotional events

6.2 No Real-World Value

  • Virtual items have no real-world monetary value
  • Virtual goods are non-refundable
  • We may modify, balance, or remove virtual items at any time
  • You do not own virtual items; you receive a limited license to use them
  • Virtual items cannot be transferred outside FrontWars

7. Modifications and Updates

We reserve the right to:

  • Modify, update, or discontinue FrontWars features
  • Change game mechanics, balance, or content
  • Perform scheduled or emergency maintenance
  • Update these Terms of Service

Continued use of FrontWars after changes constitutes acceptance of modified terms.

8. Account Termination

8.1 Termination by You

You may terminate your account at any time.

8.2 Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

  • Violate these Terms of Service
  • Engage in prohibited conduct
  • Attempt to cheat or exploit the game
  • Harm the FrontWars community
  • Remain inactive for extended periods

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

FrontWars is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • Fitness for a particular purpose
  • Merchantability
  • Non-infringement
  • Uninterrupted or error-free service
  • Security or accuracy of data

As an ALPHA release, FrontWars may contain bugs, errors, and incomplete features.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Our total liability is limited to $100 USD or the amount you paid in the past 12 months, whichever is greater
  • We are not responsible for loss of data, progress, or virtual items
  • We are not liable for actions of other players

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless VexxusArts Ltd, its affiliates, and contributors from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

  • Your use of FrontWars
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party rights
  • Your conduct in the game

12. Dispute Resolution

12.1 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom, without regard to conflict of law principles.

12.2 Resolution Process

Before pursuing formal legal action, please attempt to resolve the dispute informally.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect.

14. Entire Agreement

These Terms, along with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and VexxusArts Ltd regarding FrontWars.

16. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. Significant changes will be communicated through:

  • In-game notifications
  • Email to registered users
  • Website announcements

Your continued use of FrontWars after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

By playing FrontWars, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.
